Lady Shri Ram College for Women celebrates 77th Independence Day

Lady Shri Ram College for Women celebrated 77th Independence Day with great enthusiasm. The NCC wing of the College led the parade for hoisting the National flag. The Principal, Prof. Suman Sharma, delivered an inspiring speech and motivated students to realise the importance of sacrifices made by freedom fighters. She also reiterated about the initiatives like ‘Meri Matti Mera Desh’ which have begun from August 9, 2023.

This was followed by the NCC and NSS pledge- taking ceremony. The event ended with slogan- taking by students and all the members of the teaching and Non- teaching community. This occasion evoked nationalist sentiments among all the participants.

Dear Students,

Good wishes on the
International Day of the Girl Child.

This year, the theme chosen by the UN is
My Voice, Our Equal Future

Though of course, no longer girls, or children, I wish you as women students who are on the verge of becoming leaders in their chosen fields. This year has been challenging for us. I assure you that your educational rights as women are on our agenda. It has been 25 years since the Beijing Declaration stating equal rights for women.

I wish that the next 25 years are also full of major educational milestones for women students, leading to having your voice heard, leading to our equal future.

Dr. Suman Sharma

Principal's Message

At LSR, a premier educational institution of the University of Delhi, we believe in the exemplary mission of nurturing young women and equipping them to succeed in a rapidly changing, inter-dependent world. LSR was established by the late Sir Shri Ram in the memory of his wife in 1956. We are, and have always been, restless and tireless in fulfilling his vision of ‘More education.
