NSO is one of the most dynamic components of Lady Shri Ram College for Women, with over 1,100 young women who strive to integrate sports into their busy academic lives. Our athletes have earned accolades across various sports at the college, state, and national levels, as well as in inter-university and international competitions.

Activities for 2025-26

Participation at the Sunday Cycling Event at India Gate. LSR students participated in the Fit India Sunday Cycling Event held on 5 October 2025 at India Gate, New Delhi. In addition to cycling, there were several exciting fitness activities such as Zumba sessions, skipping, and other engaging events, which added to the enthusiasm and vibrancy. The event beautifully combined fun, fitness, and community spirit.

Annual Run. The college organised its Annual Run 2025–26 on 14 October 2025, uniting over 550 participants in a remarkable display of fitness, environmental consciousness, and community spirit. The 3 km run aimed to raise awareness about climate change under the powerful theme ‘Beat the Heat, Save the Earth’.  The chief guest was Ms. Manjusha Kanwar, Ex-International Badminton Player & Head of Sports Cell, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., New Delhi. The Guest of Honour was Ms. Tanushri Roy Alumna, LSR (Batch of 2016, former athlete & Lawyer & Policy Expert, NITI Aayog, Government of India). Purnima Kaushik secured first position in the run, followed by Vedika Gulia and Palak, who secured second and third positions, respectively.

Delhi University Inter College Tournament. LSR successfully hosted the Delhi University Inter-College Shooting, Tennis, and Table Tennis tournaments, along with the admission trials for Shooting and Table Tennis.  The college was proud to host the Delhi University Inter-College Tennis Tournament on its synthetic courts for the second consecutive year. The tournament, held from 3–6 November 2025, was followed by the Delhi University Women’s Tennis Team Selection Trials, which were also smoothly conducted on the College campus from 6 to 7 November 2025. These trials saw three members-Aditi, Anya, and Jasmine-secure selection to the North Zone silver medal-winning team for the year 2025–26. The college also organised the Delhi University Inter-College Table Tennis Tournament (women) from 13 to 15 November 2025 at the Multipurpose Hall.

Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet. LSR hosted the Dr. Bharat Ram Open Sports Meet from 19 November to 21 November 2025. With representation from over 70 colleges, approximately 1200 players actively participated in various sports disciplines. Commander Vipul Manocha Retd., founder of LAWA Global Innovation Pvt. Ltd., graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was also honoured by the presence of Harnoor Kaur Dhanjal, former Sports Union treasurer (Batch of 2021), along with CA Alisha Gandhi, Chief Financial and Administrative Officer, as Guests of Honour. The prize distribution ceremony was led by Prof. Kanika Ahuja, Principal, Lady Shri Ram College for Women.

LSR Students at Shakti Walk. LSR students participated in the Shakti Walk organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day at India Gate, New Delhi (8 March 2026). The walk witnessed the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and was organized by the Ministry of Women and Child Development. It celebrated women’s strength, resilience, and empowerment while encouraging collective action towards gender equality.

Sporting Achievements

Archery. The team was led by Devyanshi Yadav (Captain) and Nisha (Vice Captain). Samiksha Manaktala emerged as one of the most outstanding performers of the team. She won a gold medal at the National Archery Tournament Stage-1 held in Jaipur, Rajasthan. She also secured three gold medals at the Inter-College Archery Championship held at Hansraj College, University of Delhi. She is the only female archer to qualify for the All-India University Games. Additionally, she was the winner of the Women’s National Archery Championship and has been selected for the Junior National team. Tanishka Bhatia also performed remarkably well by winning one gold medal and one silver medal in the Inter-College Archery Championship (DU) 2025. Prisha Singh secured the third position in the Inter-College Archery Competition. Devyanshi Yadav won two individual silver medals at the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet.

Athletics. The team was led by Anjali (Captain) and Jiya Suri (Vice-Captain), and dedicated athletes. It delivered commendable performances across various inter-college competitions. At the Aravali Competition, the medal achievements included gold medals won by Vriddhi in the 200 metres and by Sehar in the long jump, while the silver medal was secured by Vriddhi in the 100 metres event. At SRCC FOYS gold medals were won by Jiya Suri and Vaishnavi in the shot put and the 100 metres event, respectively. The silver medal was secured by Sehar in the long jump, followed by a bronze medal won by Vriddhi in the 100 metres event. In the Delhi University Inter-College Athletics Competition, Supriya Attri secured a gold medal in the discus throw. Saniya won a bronze medal in the heptathlon event and at the 40th junior national championship held in Odisha in the discus throw event. In the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025, Anjali won a silver medal in the javelin throw. Jiya Suri won a silver medal in the shot put. Vaishnavi Singh won a silver medal in the discus throw and a gold medal in the 60m dash. Sehar Khanna won a gold medal in the 60m hurdles and a silver medal in the long jump.

Badminton. The team consisted of Sania (Captain), Pratistha (Vice Captain), Anjali, and Zainab Saeed. At the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025, Sania secured a gold medal in women’s doubles and further contributed to the team’s success by winning gold in women’s singles, and was declared the Best Player of the Tournament. Pratistha also won a silver medal in the women’s singles. Zainab, a first-year student, competed in the Mangalore India International Challenge and reached the pre-quarterfinal stage. At the India International Challenge in Hyderabad, she qualified for the main draw, and she also qualified for the main draw at the Bangladesh International Challenge. At Spardha NDIM 2026, Sania won gold medals in both women’s singles and women’s doubles, and was awarded the Best Player of the Tournament in the women’s category. Pratistha also secured a gold medal in women’s doubles at the same tournament.

Basketball. The team was led by captain Palak Shivani and vice-captain Anshika Tripathi, comprised a talented and dedicated group of players.  The team emerged as champions at prestigious events, including Royals, the Ashoka University Sports Meet, Maulana Azad Medical College Basketball Tournament, NDIM Sports Meet, the Institute of Home Economics Sports Meet, and LSR’s Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet. A defining highlight was their remarkable victory at the inaugural Delhi State Khelo Mahakhumbh basketball tournament, where they secured first place and were felicitated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Delhi. Four team members (Palak, Anshika, Kaina, and Aanavi) clinched first place in the 3×3 Basketball Tournament at the Erobern Sports Meet held at Miranda House. Yesha Chikkara captained the Delhi team at the U-19 National Basketball Championship, earned the Most Valuable Player award at the Royals Tournament, and represented Delhi University at the North Zone Inter-University Tournament.

Boxing. Under the able leadership of captain Manasvi Tokas and vice-captain Pranshu Sharma, the team actively participated in the Delhi University Inter-College Tournament, where they secured two gold medals and one bronze medal, won by Manasvi Tokas (weight category 70–75 kg), Himani (weight category 51–54 kg), and Pranshu Sharma (weight category 60–65 kg), respectively. The team also competed in the Kalindi College Invitational Tournament, where they secured the position of first runner-up. They achieved an outstanding haul, with gold medals secured by Manasvi Tokas (70–75 kg), Himani (51–54 kg), Pranshu Sharma (60–65 kg), and Kreti Chawaria (65–70 kg), along with a silver medal secured by Niyati Pujari (57-60 kg) and a bronze medal secured by Chandni Goswami (45-48 kg).

Chess. The team led by captain Yashika Jain and vice-captain Vaishnavi clinched the third position at the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025, secured an impressive 3rd position at the FOYS Chess Competition (organized by SRCC), and ranked 2nd at the Delhi University Inter-College Chess Competition. Anishka Vikram won gold in the Delhi University Inter-College Chess in the individual women’s category. Her team secured the first position in the North Zone chess championship and the 1st Board Prize in the All-India Inter-University. She received two WIM norms. She won a gold in the SLC Checkmate Championship and was awarded Best Woman in the 3rd Maharathi Open International Blitz. participated in IM Round Robin ‘Festival Saha Bijeljina 2026, IM4 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, GM Mix 12 Fantastico tournaments, January 2026 in Senta, Serbia, Budapest Three Years 2025 – IM-C, Hungary, GM Mix 13 Fantastico Senta, Serbia, Senta – Rapid 12 Fantastico, Serbia, Senta – Blitz 13 Fantastico, Serbia, IM Round Robin “Festival saha Bijeljina 2026” IM2 Bosnia and Herzegovina & SixDays Budapest, November 2025 – IM-A, Hungary & IM Round Robin ‘Festival saha Bijeljina 2026’ and lastly IM3 Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Football. The team led by Ananya Mandola (captain), along with Shreya Sharma and Ananya Pratap as co-vice captains, clinched 1st position in the Dr. Bharati Ram Sports Meet, with Vedika Gulia named player of the tournament. Moreover, it retained 4th position in the DU Inter-College Football Tournament. Two players from the team, Vedika Gulia and Shreya Sharma, represented Delhi University at the North Zone & All India Inter-University Football tournament held at Alakpura, Haryana. Furthermore, the team secured 1st position in the Bharti Cup, held at Bharti College.

Handball. The LSR Handball team was led by Samiksha (Captain), Jyoti Pandey and Nisha Rawat (Vice-Captain). They participated in the Inter-College Handball tournament.

Judo. The team was led by Manjot Kaur (Captain) and Aakriti Gupta (Vice-Captain).  Manjot Kaur secured two gold medals at the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet, a silver at Dronacharya, a gold in Kurash trials, and an additional bronze at the inter-college level. She also represented the college at the National Championship held in Bihar, where Khushi participated alongside her. Khushi had an exceptional run, winning gold at the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet (Judo and Kurash), a bronze at the DU Inter-College, a gold in the Kurash trials, and the Best Kurash Player Award. Bhumika Tokas delivered an outstanding performance, securing a gold (Junior) and a silver (Senior) at Dronacharya, a bronze at the Delhi University Inter-College tournament, gold and silver medals at the Dr Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025, and top positions in the Kurash trials (1st in Junior and 3rd in Senior categories). Among other achievers at the Dr Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025 were Aakriti (bronze), Surat (bronze in Judo and silver in Kurash), Soni (silver), Anjali (silver in Kurash and bronze in Judo), Pragya (bronze in both Judo and Kurash), and Pushplata (bronze in Judo and Kurash).

Swimming. The swimming team was led by Suhani Rachel Sharma (captain) and Anushuya Borah (vice-captain). Suhani Rachel Sharma led the team with consistent performances throughout the season. She won gold medals in the 4x100m freestyle relay and 4x200m freestyle relay, along with 3 silver medals in the 200m, 100m, and 50m breaststroke at the Delhi University Inter-College Swimming Competition. She also represented the college by being part of the Delhi team for the 78th Senior National Aquatics Championship 2025, held in Ahmedabad. Anushuya Borah also brought laurels to the college by winning gold medals in the 50m backstroke and 4×200m freestyle relay, along with two silver medals in the 100m and 200m backstroke, in the Delhi University Swimming Competition. She won three gold medals and one silver medal at the All-Assam Swimming Competition and participated in the All-India University Competition 2025-26, held in Chennai. Purnima Kaushik won five gold medals in the 50m, 100m, 200m breaststroke, 4×100m freestyle relay, and 4×200m freestyle relay, with two silver medals in the 200m freestyle and 200m Individual Medley event. She participated in the Haryana Olympics and won one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals. She won two silver medals and one bronze at the Haryana State. Purnima won a gold medal at Khelo Haryana and a gold, along with two silver medals, in the Asmita Khelo India Women Series 2026, held in Haryana. Harshita Lakhina won gold medals in the 4×100m freestyle relay and 4×200m freestyle relay, silver in 400m and 800m freestyle, and bronze in 100m butterfly and 200m freestyle. She won two gold medals in the Delhi State Aquatics Competition and also represented the college at Asmita Khelo India Women Series 2026, held in Haryana, where she won three silver medals and a bronze medal. She participated in the Khelo India Youth Games in the 200m butterfly event and made the college proud. Divya Mahajan showcased her effort by winning a gold medal in the 4×100m freestyle relay at the Delhi University Swimming Competition. She also won a gold medal in the Khelo Haryana competition in the 200m freestyle event. Tejaswini Sharma won a bronze in the 50m backstroke event at the Delhi University Swimming Competition. The team emerged as the Overall Champions in the Delhi University Swimming Competition 2025-26.

Shooting. The Shooting Team was led by captain Anushka Mishra and vice-captain Shrivani Rautela. They had a fulfilling year in 2025–26, with achievements across all levels. Bhavya Tripathi represented India at the Asian Championship in Shymkent, the Senior World Cups in Argentina and Peru 2025, and the Junior World Cups in Germany and New Delhi. She won a team gold and a mixed-team silver at the Asian Championship in Kazakhstan, represented Delhi at the National Games (Uttarakhand), secured an individual bronze at the All India Inter-University Games, and a team gold in the trap event. She won junior team gold and senior team silver at the Nationals. Agrima Kanwar had a consistent year, representing India at the ISSF World Cup (Cyprus) and Asian Championship (Kazakhstan), where she won team silver and reached the finals. She also finished 6th at the ISSF Junior World Cup (New Delhi), won silver at Khelo India Youth Games 2025, gold at the Digvijay Singh Memorial 2026, and is set to compete at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Egypt.  Saina Bharwani won multiple medals at both the National and Delhi State Championships. Anushka Mishra secured gold at the 48th UP State Shooting Championship. Drishti Sangwan added a gold at the 5th Champion Shooting Championship. Dia Singh finished 2nd in an inter-college event and placed 7th at the National Games. Bhavya Tripathi, Dia, and Agrima delivered remarkable performances at the All-India Inter-University Games in Patiala. Bhavya and Dia secured a team gold medal in the trap women’s team event.

Tennis. The team was led by Anya Jacob (Captain) and Kaavya Nayyar (Vice-Captain). They secured first position in the Delhi University Inter-College Championship. Notably, three out of the four members of the Delhi University team—Anya Jacob, Jasmine Rawat, and Aditi Rawat—were selected from LSR. Anya won gold at the Dr Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025–26, while Kaavya finished as the runner-up in the same tournament. Additionally, she secured second position in doubles and third in singles at Erobern 2026 at Miranda House. Jasmine Rawat had a strong year across university and national tournaments, winning gold and silver in AITA Women’s 1 Lac tournaments, a silver in the North Zone Inter-University (2025–26), and finishing fourth in both the Khelo India (2024–25) and All India Inter-University (2025–26) events. Shimreen Ahamed was part of the winning team at the DU Inter-College Championship. Aditi Rawat delivered an exceptional performance in the international pro circuit, reaching the second round in ITF 15K tournaments in Gurugram and Thailand, while also being a key member of the silver medal-winning DU team at the North Zone University Games.

Table tennis. Under the leadership of Captain Mannat Chotwani and Vice-Captain Aayushi, the team finished in the top 4 in the 2025 DU Inter-College Women’s Table Tennis tournament and claimed the Champion’s Trophy at Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025.  Aayushi qualified for the All-India Inter-University Games and Khelo India University Games 2025, ranking among Delhi’s top ten women players. Aayushi also secured first position in the DU Team Selection Trials 2025 and the Dr Bharat Ram Sports Meet 2025. 

Volleyball. The team was led by Captain Raunak Ghildiyal and Vice-Captain Khushi Dubey. They secured first position at Ashoka University and second at the Dr. Bharat Ram Sports Meet, and finished third at the Bharati Cup. The team also demonstrated strong competitive performance at the Delhi University Intercollege Tournament, Khel Mahakumbh, Spardha at Shaheed Rajguru College for Applied Sciences, and Synapse at Maulana Azad Medical College, advancing to the semi-final and quarter-final stages. In recognition of individual excellence, Shagun Suhag was awarded the Best Spiker title at the Bharati Cup.

Yoga. The team was led by Sughra Mehdi Naqvi (captain), Diksha (vice-captain), Anushka Saini (vice-captain). They brought home nine medals and three trophies across multiple prestigious inter-college competitions. Sughra Naqvi led the team with an outstanding individual performance by winning gold in Rhythmic Solo at DBR’26, also given the title of Best Player, gold in Traditional Solo at Surge’25 SNU, silver in Traditional and Rhythmic Solo at Jivamukti’26, and a bronze at Yogotsav’26. Together, Sughra and Diksha made a formidable pair, clinching gold in Artistic Pair at DBR’26 and silver at Jivamukti’26, while Diksha also added a silver in Traditional Solo at Surge’25 to the tally. Yesha Sehgal won Bronze in Traditional Solo at both Jivamukti’26 and Jazba’26.

Gymnastics.  Udita Parmar delivered an outstanding performance at the Delhi State Gymnastics Championship 2025–26, securing one gold and two silver medals. She represented the University of Delhi at the All-India Inter-University Games 2026. Divya Prashant Mondekar has secured medals at the All-India University Games, including a Bronze Medal and a Ribbon in 2024, followed by a Team Silver Medal in 2026.
