Lady Shri Ram College for Women had the pleasure and honour of hosting Dr. Gita Gopinath, Chief Economist of the International Monetary Fund on the 20th of December, 2019. Dr. Gopinath graduated from the Department of Economics, LSR in 1992. Since then her tremendous achievements in the field of Economics have brought great pride and prestige to the LSR community.
The event organised at LSR on this occasion was dialogic in nature. The audience asked Dr. Gopinath questions on a host of economic issues, including the slowdown of the global economy and its impact on India. Questions were also asked around the themes of gender, sustainability and social development. Dr. Gopinath’s comprehensive insights in response to the audience’s astute questions, made it a wonder learning experience for all present. We look forward to more interactions with Dr. Gopinath.
