Dr. Bhawana Arora has been working as an Assistant Professor (Adhoc) in the Department of Elementary Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women since 2013. With Physics, Philosophy, Science Education, Math Education and Education Planning & Management as academic background, she has been teaching variety of papers including Science and Life under FYUP; Environmental Studies under CBCS; Core Natural Science, Logico-Mathematics Education, Pedagogy of Mathematics, Basic Concepts in Education, School Planning and Management, Curriculum Studies and Practicum including Material Development in Mathematics and EVS, School Contact Programme, Observing Children, Project & Internship in B.El.Ed. She has 17 years of teaching experience in the capacity of teacher and teacher educator. She has worked as PGT Physics in reputed schools of  Delhi for 7+ years. Her doctoral thesis is in the area of science education and globalization. She has published few research articles in educational journals and readers of national repute. Also she has been presenting papers in national and international conferences. She has contributed to the corporate social life of the college in various capacities- Staff advisor to various societies including Women Development Cell, Dance Society, Quiz and Elocution Society, Prakriti and an active member of Garden Committee and College Decor.

Workshops Conducted/ Participated as a Resource Person

  • Conducted a hands-on Training Session for 40 teachers, teaching 2nd- 8th grades, on Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) as per the recommendations of NEP 2020, organized by the NGO Khushii (Kinship for Humanitarian Social and Holistic Intervention in India) on Saturday, 17th June 2023.
  • Conducted a hands- on workshop as a Resource Person for mathematics teacher educators from DIETs and school mathematics teachers on the topic “Content based Pedagogy in Mathematics”  under the programme entitled “State Resource Group Mathematics Training Workshop” organized by the Department of Educational Research Survey and Evaluation, SCERT, Uttarakhand, Dehradun on Friday, 3rd March 2023.
  • Conducted a Workshop with teacher Educators on Using Films as a pedagogic tool in mathematics classes in a teacher preparation programme in September, 2015 during a Seminar supported by USIEF organized by Department of Elementary Education, LSR.

Curriculum Design and Development

  • Invited as a Resource Person for the Modification and Development of Teaching-Learning Material in Mathematics Laboratory, by NCERT on Tuesday, 14th and Friday, 17th February 2023.

Paper presentations

  • Presented a paper titled, “Blended and Experiential Learning through Technology: A Vision of NEP 2020” in a two day National Conference on “Inclusive and Equitable Education for Disadvantaged Group: Realizing SDG 4 and NEP 2020” on 19th and 20th May 2023 in collaboration with ICSSR, North Western Region Centre,  Punjab University, Chandigarh. The paper was awarded as the best paper under the theme “ICT in Education and Blended Learning”
