The mission at LSR is to provide quality education, nurture academic excellence and critical enquiry and encourage an engaged sense of responsibility towards the larger community. LSR has been consistently ranked among the top colleges in the country in nationwide polls. LSR’s record of excellence and its pre-eminence in the field of higher education was acknowledged by NAAC which gave LSR an ‘A+’ grade in its first cycle of grading and A++ in the second cycle. LSR has also always done well on NIRF rankings and other surveys such as the India Today Survey.

The students of LSR perform very well in their End-of-semester examinations. The pedagogical approach at LSR is learner-centric, aimed at sharpening students’ critical understanding of concepts and real-world usage of the knowledge they acquire. Classes are kept interactive and dialogic. Faculty members use e-tools and well-designed PPTs to keep their students engaged. Some faculty members also make curriculum-based videos that students may view at their own pace. Documentaries, workshops, field visits (if pandemic conditions allow) and student presentations are the other pedagogical tools used.
To enrich their corpus of knowledge, students are encouraged to use curriculum-based readings while supplementing them with additional academic e-resources (for eg., online academic journals). Students also get the opportunity to interact with experts from varied fields.
Placements and Internships are another sign of academic excellence at LSR. The Placement Season 2022 – 23 of LSR was an extremely eventful year and witnessed the participation of more than 140 companies extending 236 offers to our students. Industry giants like McKinsey & Co., Boston Consulting Group, Kepler Cannon, DE Shaw, Accenture, Dalberg, Trinity, Deloitte, EY and KPMG offered positions in a diverse range of fields such as consulting, finance, marketing and sales, media and research, auditing, and HR. The highest package of INR 44.8 LPA (highest in the University of Delhi), was bagged by Janvi Gupta from Commerce Department. The average package amounted to an aggregate of INR 11.8 LPA while the median package stood at INR 9.5 LPA
The Cell hosted a varied range of companies offering internships, both physical and virtual, throughout the year and opening up avenues for socially geared initiatives with organizations like Shashi Dream Foundation, CRRSS, CovEd India. The highest ever stipend was offered by the Bank of America, recruiting for their Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (Sales) Role, and offered Rs. 6,68,000 for 8 weeks. The average stipend offered this year stood at INR 140000 for 2 months for full-time summer internships, with 41 full-time offers made by 11 companies
