A day-long ‘Faculty Induction Workshop’ was organized by Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University, following the recent recruitment of Assistant Professors on a permanent basis across several departments of the college.
The event that was organized on Sunday, the 8th of October, aimed at not only welcoming the new teachers, but also to provide them with an orientation to the college and its vibrant academic life. Principal Prof. Suman Sharma conducted the workshop by familiarizing the group with several aspects of teaching-learning, pedagogy, administrative procedures, and overall college culture that embodies—Lakshay, Sadhna, Rachna (लक्ष्य, साधना, रचना). Sharing of best practices of the college and experiential sharing by faculty were other features of the workshop.
Faculty members who taught previously at LSR and recently got recruited permanently at other colleges also shared best practices from their respective institutions, leading to a rich collegiate exchange.
Newly recruited faculty members were pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by this unique initiative. They found it extremely useful.
