Delegation from University of Queensland, Australia on 4th August 2022

The Lady Shri Ram College’s Office of International Programs was honoured to host a delegation from the University of Queensland, Australia on August 4, 2022. The visiting group was led by Professor Deborah Terry AO, President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Queensland. UQ ranks among the world’s topmost Universities. UQ is one of the only three Australian members of the global Universitas 21, a founding member of the Group of Eight (Go8) universities and a member of Universities Australia.

Professor Terry along with her colleagues, Professor Heather Zwicker and Professor Helen Klaebe held a session with the students on the topic “Women in Leadership in Contemporary Times”. They were accompanied by Mr Brett Lovegrove, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Global Partnership) and Mr. Mathew Johnson, Minister Counsellor along with Ms. Anu Jain from the Australian High Commission.

Professor Suman Sharma, Principal, LSR gave a warm welcome address to the delegation. Prof. Terry talked about challenges faced by women in leadership position. Each of the speakers conveyed the lessons they have learnt in their journey into leadership and imparted values that they’ve gained through professional and personal experiences. At the end of their speeches, the floor was open to questions and was followed by a lively discussions with the students. Students representing all department attended the session.
