Lady Shri Ram College for Women celebrated its Annual College Day on 4th June 2022. Student Union President, Aditi, welcomed the gathering followed by the College prayer and College song. Thereafter, esteemed Principal, Dr Suman Sharma delivered the Principal’s address and shared the major achievements of the past academic year including LSR’s high NIRF ranking, excellent academic results and winning Delhi University’s Green Cup. Dr. Sharma also spoke of various initiatives taken in recent times to facilitate the teaching -learning processes in College.
Chairperson of the Governing Body of Lady Shri Ram College, Shri Arun Bharat Ram, also addressed the gathering. He acknowledged the efforts of the LSR community in giving their best to the institution and introduced the Chief Guest of the evening Prof. Girishwar Misra (Former Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya, Wardha). Prof. Mishra spoke on the significance of education in the development of the youth and nation. He also expressed optimism regarding LSR’s abilities to carry forth the ideals of progressive and inclusive education.
LSR felicitated three alumni Arti Dogra, IAS, Sukriti Likhi, IAS and Surya Malik Grover, Joint Registrar, Delhi High Court who received the Distinguished Alumna Awards for excellence in their respective fields. The College also recognised the contributions of staff members- Dr. SR Chowdhury and Dr. Prabha Rani who have completed 25 years of service. After this the prize distribution ceremony took place with prizes given to students who have achieved great feats in academic and co-curricular pursuits.
A cultural performance followed and provided glimpses into the efforts put in by College societies during the Umang ‘22 festival. The event was brought to a close with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Kalyani, Staff Advisor to the Students Union of LSR.
