Aletheia – Annual Academic Meet 2024

The 2024 Annual Academic Meeting, Aletheia, hosted by the Department of Philosophy from April 18th to 19th, showcased the department’s unwavering dedication to fostering philosophical inquiry and nurturing a vibrant academic community. The event spanned two enriching days, featuring a diverse array of speakers, competitions, and scholarly exchanges.

Day one commenced with a captivating lecture by Professor Smita Sirker, who explored the intricate relationship between moral and causal intuition.

Attendees actively engaged in discussions, grappling with philosophical tensions surrounding responsibility within frameworks of moral and causal determinism. Concurrently, the Annual Paper Presentation Competition showcased the research prowess of students from various institutions. Esteemed judges, including Professors Nilanjan Bhowmick, Silika Mohapatra, and Alphy Geaver, evaluated the presentations, recognizing outstanding contributions to philosophical discourse.
