Attendance Norms

  1. Students are required to attend at least two thirds of all the lectures, tutorials, practicals held in the semester, failing which they would be detained in one or more core papers depending on their attendance in the entire semester. Attendance in Lectures, tutorials and practicals all together will be considered for calculation of the cumulative attendance in a semester.
  2. Departments would recommend students for prizes, LORS, hostel facilities only if they have at least 50 % attendance after giving the benefits of ECA and Medical.
  3. ECA/NSO benefit can only be maximum one third of all lectures, tutorials and practicals held in the semester.
  4. Medical benefit can be maximum one third of all lectures, tutorials, practicals held in the semester. ECA/NSO and Medical benefit together also cannot be more than one third of all lectures, tutorials, practicals.
  5. Medical benefit can only be claimed by the student for serious illness / accident. Medical leave claimed for less than 5 days shall not be considered. Students should get the medical slip signed by their respective faculty, along with a medical certificate, within one week of joining back classes and submit it to attendance in charge of the department for record after all faculty have noted the attendance in their registers. Medical slips submitted at the end of the semester /after a week of joining back classes shall not be considered.
  6. ECA slip must have the full name of society staff advisors / association in charges followed by their signatures. ECA slip must mention exact dates and the cause of absence for which ECA attendance is requested.
  7. ECA and MC would be uploaded by all the faculty only once at the end of semester.
