International collaborations are crucial in today’s world. They lead to experiential and transformative learning, build multicultural and inter-cultural links, empower students with new skills and help create global citizens. Fifteen students from the Faculty of Arts, Macquarie University visited India on a short term study programme as part of the Australian government’s New Colombo Plan scholarship. They were being led by Dr. Julian Droogan, Senior Lecturer, Department of Security Studies and Criminology.
The group visited Lady Shri Ram College, University of Delhi to interact with faculty and students from 9th September to 13th September, 2019. This visit was the outcome of a series of discussions that highlighted the similarity of vision of the two institutions – a vision shaped by the belief that an educational programme should combine academic excellence and vibrant extra-curricular activities with outreach programmes and community service.
