“Making Headway after Graduation”: A Webinar on Masters – India and Abroad by The North-East Cell in Collaboration with IQAC-LSR

The North-East Cell in Collaboration with IQAC-LSR hosted a webinar entitled “Making Headway after Graduation: A talk session on Masters- India and Abroad” on 30th October 2021. The following speakers were invited – Nivedita Hatibaruah, Danny Hmar, and Jasmine Maringmei. Nivedita Hatibaruah is a Chevening Scholar pursuing a Master of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Mr. Danny Hmar is a marketing manager at The Red Brick Summit and also manages Mizoram based musicians while completing his Master of Business Administration at IIM Ahmedabad and Jasmine Maringmei is an alumni of Lady Shri Ram College and Delhi School of Economics with an undergraduate and Master’s Degree in the subject of Sociology.

Almost 50 students were present during the session. The speakers shared their own experiences and responded to the queries of the participants. They discussed the significance of mentors, prior inquiries, self-study, and interacting with others. Furthermore, the talk was about the choices of courses in higher studies, requirements for preparation to get into various higher institutions, management studies etc.

The speakers also highlighted the required skills on the part of the students, nature and demands of pursuing higher studies. The webinar covered detail of Chevening scholarship, eligibility and the prospects of getting the scholarship. The session was then opened to a Questions and Answers session. The participants asked questions regarding GRE, choice of Indian Institutions abroad and dropout rates in school. The event was very enlightening and ended with a vote of thanks
