Independence Day Celebration at LSR 🇮🇳

On 15 August 2026, Lady Shri Ram College for Women came together with immense pride and patriotic fervour to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of our nation at the College’s Back Lawns.

The National Flag was hoisted by the Principal, Dr. Kanika Ahuja, with the ceremony facilitated by Associate NCC Officer, Capt. Prof. Sarika Kalra. The occasion featured the NCC Promising Day Parade, with a contingent of 21 cadets presenting a disciplined and coordinated march past, embodying the values of commitment, service, and duty.

Adding to the spirit of the occasion was the meticulously prepared decoration across the Back Lawns, brought to life through the dedicated efforts of the College Gardeners. The thoughtfully arranged flowers and decorations beautifully reflected the colours of the Tricolour, transforming the space into a vibrant expression of national pride.

The NCC Song and Oath resonated across the campus, reaffirming our collective responsibility towards the nation. In her address, Dr. Ahuja reflected on the meaning of freedom and the responsibilities it places upon each citizen, reminding us that independence is not merely a legacy we inherit, but a responsibility we uphold.

The Indian Music Society Dhwani’s stirring rendition of Vande Mataram added to the spirit of the occasion, and imbued the ceremony with a deep sense of pride, unity and national spirit.

Independence is not merely a legacy inherited; it is a responsibility realised, upheld, and lived. The celebration at LSR was a reflection of our collective spirit and a reaffirmation of our enduring commitment to the nation.
