HIVE

Hive, the fine arts society of Lady Shri Ram College, engages in a range of arts and crafts. Our past activities have handled diverse media and most artists at Hive experiment with different kinds of artistic traditions. For us, art is not just about what is on the surface, but also about what inspires us as social beings. To express this, Hive has held exhibitions of its own within LSR for a several important occasions, especially over the last two years.

Hive, the Fine Arts Society of LSR, is interested in exploring the different avenues in the world of art has to offer. It emphasizes teamwork, cohesion, and the unique amalgamation of ideas and visions of various artists to create something new and exciting. It works with varying mediums and styles of art through the organization of exhibitions, workshops, art trips, and more. It witnessed hosting of myriad sessions after two years of online functioning. With an unprecedented 58+ members in the society, Hive was involved in a range of initiatives ranging from beginner’s workshops to mural painting. The society put up face painting stalls at multiple occasions in the college. It hosted two exhibitions in July 2022 and March 2023. The society also held various Inter-College Competitions during the Annual Cultural Fest, Tarang 2023. All these events saw commendable footfall and participants from among students of LSR. The members of the society participated in multiple competitions throughout the year.

Hive, the Fine Arts Society of LSR, is interested in exploring the different avenues the world of art has to offer. Hive witnessed a rather eventful session after two years of online functioning. With an unprecedented 77 members in the society, Hive was involved in a range of initiatives ranging from beginner’s workshops to mural painting. Furthermore, to wrap up the academic year, Hive held its much awaited annual Exhibition in April. All these events saw commendable footfall.

Hive Mural

Hive painted a mural on the wall opposite Hive Mural of 2018 on the occasion of Environment week.

 

The painting was themed to celebrate and highlight the role of indigenous communities’ role in environment conservation.

TFI Mural Painting

19th – 21st March, 2022

Hive in collaboration with Teach for India, Delhi participated in the 3rd edition of Paint The Change, an initiative dedicated to painting under-resourced schools in Delhi.

 

Our members used meaningful and relevant motifs to represent the issue of empowering girl children through the means of education. In one of the murals, a quote by bell hooks leaves us with an inspiring message “Education is about the practice of freedom”.

Umang Map Making

Hive held its official annual exhibition on the theme ‘Creation of the Night – Art Inspired by Our Dreams’

 

Hive presented a prolific exhibition of over 30 artworks on the occasion of Umang, LSR’s cultural festival.

Customized Chibi Making
