Prakriti society and Garden committee in collaboration with IQAC-LSR celebrated World Wildlife Week by conducting a Nature Walk on October 1, 2019. This Nature Walk was guided by Dr. Neha Sharma, Department of Environmental Science, LSR College. This walk was aimed to appreciate nature and to highlight the significance of trees in Indian society.
During the Nature Walk, students were involved in identification of various trees in the college campus. PoemS, stories, ancient traditions, festival and folktales in relation to trees were discussed with students. Ecological and medicinal significance of trees was also highlighted. The Nature Walk was also an attempt to develop emotional bonding of students with trees by reviving ancient stories and forgotten folklore associated with them. Students acquired knowledge, inspiration and understanding of the rich cultural value associated with trees through this Nature Walk.
