The Summer School, organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of LSR under the guidance of Acting Principal, Professor Kanika K. Ahuja, was curated to enhance intellectual engagement and learning beyond formal curricula. As part of our efforts to effectively implement the NEP 2020, the Summer School was a significant step in aligning our teaching processes with the values of interdisciplinarity and a focus on the Indian knowledge systems.
The Summer School offered three carefully crafted courses- Bharat Bodha: Ancient Indian Wisdom & Its Contemporary Relevance (in collaboration with the Delhi Sanskrit Academy), Timeless Lessons: Gita & Psychological Insights, and An Introduction to Zoroastrianism: Continuity & Change. All the courses were open to students and academicians from all over the country. LSR received over 170 registrations from institutions such as Christ University, GGSIPU, Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri National Sanskrit University, Miranda House, Jesus and Mary College and Hansraj College. Each course offered interactive sessions and engaging discussions to enable participants to acquire cultural sensitivity, build critical thinking, and foster creativity. Certification of participants was based on the rigorous criteria of a minimum of 80% attendance in the chosen course and the timely submission of all assessments. The inaugural sessions for Bharat Bodha: Ancient Indian Wisdom & Its Contemporary Relevance and Timeless Lessons- Gita & Psychological Insights were held in hybrid mode. All the other sessions were conducted online.
भारत-बोध: प्राचीन भारतीय ज्ञान एवं उसकी समसामयिक प्रासंगिकता

भारत की समृद्ध परंपरा से परिचित कराने हेतु लेडी श्री राम महाविद्यालय में समर स्कूल के आयोजन के अंतर्गत सर्वप्रथम Bharat Bodh: Ancient Indian Wisdom and Its Contemporary Relevance विषय पर ‘प्रमाण पत्र पाठ्यक्रम’ का आयोजन किया गया । इस पाठ्यक्रम का आयोजन संस्कृत विभाग द्वारा IQAC, लेडी श्री राम कॉलेज और दिल्ली- संस्कृत-अकादमी के संयुक्त तत्वावधान में किया गया । यह पाठ्यक्रम कुल 40 घंटे का था जिसमें 30 घंटे के व्याख्यान सत्र और 10 घंटे का मूल्यांकन शामिल था। 30 घंटे के व्याख्यान सत्र को 10 दिनों (प्रत्येक 3 घंटे) में इस प्रकार विभाजित किया गया । इस पाठ्यक्रम कोर्स में दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय तथा अन्य विश्वविद्यालयों के 70 से अधिक प्रतिभागियों ने रजिस्ट्रेशन किया और यह प्रतिभागी संस्कृतस्नातकों के अतिरिक्त अन्य विविध विषयों के छात्र थे । इस पाठ्यक्रम का उद्घाटन समारोह 9 जून 2025 को संपन्न हुआ जिसकी मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में संसद सदस्य सुश्री बांसुरी स्वराज उपस्थित हुई
उद्घाटन सत्र के पश्चात 10 जून से शैक्षणिक सत्र प्रारंभ हुए । प्रतिदिन एक-एक घंटे के तीन सत्र हुए । ये सत्र प्रातः 10:00 बजे से प्रारंभ होकर मध्यान्ह 1:00 बजे तक होते रहे । सत्र ऑनलाइन माध्यम से जूम प्लेटफार्म पर हुए, शैक्षणिक सत्रों में भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा के विशाल भंडार की समग्रता को यथा संभव समायोजित करते हुए विविध शास्त्र आधारित विषयोंको सम्मिलित किया गया । भारतीय ज्ञान परंपरा के विविध विद्वानों ने अपने वक्तव्यों से छात्रों का मार्गदर्शन किया । जिनमें प्रमुख रूप से- प्रों दयाल सिंह, डा. ऋषिराज पाठक, डा. पुनीता शर्मा, प्रो. मोनिका सिंह, प्रो.कल्याणी, प्रो.प्रीति धवन, प्रो.गिरीश नाथ झा, प्रो. रामनाथ झा, प्रो. रामसहाय (आयुर्वेदाचार्य) विद्वान आचार्य रहे ।
भारत-बोध के इस पाठ्यक्रम के अंतर्गत देश प्रथम विषय पर स्लोगन लेखन प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई जिनमें चार पुरस्कार घोषित किए गए-

व्याख्यानों के आधार पर छात्रों का मूल्यांकन किया गया । यद्यपि 70 छात्रों ने इस पाठ्यक्रम में अपना रजिस्ट्रेशन करवाया था परंतु 49 छात्रों को इस पाठ्यक्रम की प्रतिभागिता के प्रमाण पत्र ऑनलाइन माध्यम से भेजे गए हैं । 9 जून से प्रारंभ होकर 23 जून 2025 को इस पाठ्यक्रम का समापन समारोह हुआ।
Timeless Lessons: Gita & Psychological Insights (16-26 June, 2025)
The course was an exciting journey undertaken with 60 participants from various educational institutions to explore the linkages between ancient sources of knowledge and modern life. Experts from varied fields discussed the significance of the Gita and the lessons it offers us to optimize our well-being in today’s time. The sessions were effective in assisting the participants to develop not only an appreciation for culturally-informed systems of knowledge, but also how the inclusion of ancient texts such as the Bhagavad Gita can help enhance psychology’s acceptance in India.
The experts invited for the course included Shri. Pavan Varma (former Diplomat, Author and Politician), Professor Girishwar Mishra (Former Vice Chancellor, Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya), Professor Urmi Biswas (Head of Department, Psychology, University of Delhi), Professor Suneet Verma (Department of Psychology, University of Delhi), Dr. R.M. Matthijs Cornelissen (Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education, Pondicherry), Dr. Jyotsna Kalavar (Professor of Psychology, Georgia Gwinnett College, USA) and Dr. Rashmi Singla (Associate Professor, Roskilde University, Denmark). Faculty members of LSR College, including Professor Smita Sahgal (Department of History), Dr. Maya Joshi (Department of English), and Dr. Megha Dhillon (Department of Psychology), also facilitated sessions. Several wonderful themes were addressed by the invited speakers. For instance, Prof. Kalavar discussed the relevance of the Gita in the arena of work, while Prof. Suneet Verma connected the Gita to modern practices of Psychotherapy. Dharma and the intersections of Buddhism were discussed astutely by Prof. Sahgal and Dr. Joshi, respectively. The course was appreciated by the participants for its novel, thought-provoking content and the rich knowledge imparted by the erudite speakers.
Crossroads of Culture: Parsi Heritage & Indian Narratives: (23 June – 02 July, 2025)
This course was conducted online using Zoom platform from 23rd June to 02nd July from 09:30 AM till 02:30 PM. It was jointly organised by LSR and TISS-ParZor catering to 51 participants across Delhi University, National & International Universities. The genre of participants was not only restricted to ongoing college students, it had participants who recently gave their 12th boards examination; there were a handful of retired faculties enthusiastic to know about Parsi heritage. The course even received participation from home-makers across India.
This course successfully conducted 9 sessions spread over the period of 10 days. These sessions were taken by Prof. Shernaz Cama (Director, ParZor), Prof. Coomi Vevaina (Former head of Department of English, University of Mumbai) and Prof. Shalini Bharat (Former Director/Vice Chancellor of TISS). The first two days started with an introduction to Zoroastrianism with specific discussion on symbols, their concepts and rituals, etc. A careful overview on the Parsi Empire, its history and their transition in the Indian subcontinent. The following days explored the magnificent contribution of Parsis in India and their growing influences linking it to their rich culture that they are embodied with. The short film was also showcased on The Diaspora & New Beginnings, role & representation of women in Parsi culture. Prof. Shalini Bharat session brought interesting observations on Parsi demographics by utilising NFHS data and her in-depth study findings. Prof. Coomi engaged everyone in the poetic symphony through lively discussion on Parsi Literature with participants. Field Trip was organised on Day 9 to various Parsi heritage sites such as Irani Culture House, Godrej Bhawan, Dr. Shroff’s Charity Eye Hospital, Aramgah with an objective to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
