Dr. Arunima Ray in the session titled ‘Caste Concealment and Coming Out’ discussed the unique features of Dalit autobiographies/memoirs. Ray reflected on the struggles behind concealing one’s social identity and the act of coming out with a special reference to Yashica Dutt’s ‘Coming Out as Dalit’. The event was followed by a QnA session where audience shared their viewpoints on caste Concealment.
