ANNUAL DAY REPORT
Lady Shri Ram College for Women celebrated its 68th Annual Day with great fervor on the 10th of May, 2024. The morning ceremony commenced with the college prayer and the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Principal, Prof. Suman Sharma. The college magazine, which showcases the literary talents of the students, was officially released during the event. The ceremony included the distribution of certificates to meritorious students, recognizing their excellence in their respective fields. Proud parents graced the occasion to witness the glorious moments. The segment concluded with a vote of thanks from the Student Union’s Cultural Secretary, Shubhangi Kesarwani.

The evening session began after high-tea. Upon the arrival of the Principal and the esteemed guests, Saaz (LSR’s instrumental society) began the proceedings with a musical rendition of popular tunes, after which members of Dhwani, LSR’s Indian Music Society presented the college song. Prof. Suman Sharma shared the annual report for the academic year 2023-24, describing the major events and achievements of the year. She also spoke of the foundational values of LSR such as gender equity, social responsibility, inclusivity and respect for diversity. Further, Prof. Sharma felicitated the chief guest Prof. Manisha Priyam, LSR alumna and faculty of Education Policy at the National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration. Thereafter, Prof. Priyam spoke fondly and passionately of her time at LSR and how it had shaped her professional and personal journey. Ms. Vasavi Bharat Ram, member of the governing body of the college, also graciously addressed the audience about the history of LSR.

The program included the felicitations of distinguished alumna and recognition of the efforts of staff members who retired this year or completed 25 years of service. An integral part of the evening was the prize distribution ceremony to celebrate the achievements of our beloved students. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Student Union’s President, Jagriti Mishra.

The final element of the evening was the cultural program, involving mesmerizing performances by Dhwani, the Western Music Society, and Dance Society. The Annual Day celebration was a resounding success, showcasing the institution’s commitment to academic and cultural excellence.
