Interdisciplinary projects:

  • Interviewed by prestigious Hindi Journal – Nayi Dhaara (estd. 1950), in a special programme – Geet Gane Do Mujhe on the musical aesthetics and tranformations of Mahakavi Suryakant Tripathi Nirala’s poetry.   • Performed solo concerts of the poems of Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala’ composed in different ragas of Hindustani Classical music by herself at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi and Sahitya Akademi, Delhi in 2018 and 2014, respectively.   • Conceived and organized 27 lectures interdisciplinary lectures under (अंतर अनुशासनिक व्याख्यान एवं परिसंवाद माला). The series targets differentiated learning outcomes due to language barriers and aims to expand knowledge horizon of LSR’s students of Hindi literature and Hindi-medium. It aims to continue broadening the horizon of students, who are relatively less proficient in English. The students reported to have immensely benefitted from the series.
  • Invited as a poet to recite her self-composed poems in Spandan, Department of Hindi’s Annual Academic Meet at Shri Ram College of Commerce in 2019.
  • Invited to deliver a talk on शरतचंद्र के लेखन में स्त्री विमर्श (Representation of women in Sharachchandra’s writings) at All India Radio in a programme on creative expressions and literary discourses – साहित्यिकी.
  • Presented self-composed poems on women’s emancipation and sense of identity on the occasion of International Women’s Day at All India Radio in the programme – आधा आकाश मारा.
  • Interviewed as an inspirational personality on an online community radio station – Radio Udaan. Radio Udaan is run by a group of visually impaired young enthusiasts with a mission to inspire, connect and sensitize common people.
  • Performed in an experimental theatrical show titled ROOFTOP Review in the project – Parallel Cities Delhi 2013, directed by Stefan Kaegi, one among the three inventors of documentary theatre, associated with the German label – Rimini Protokoll. The event formed a part of annual Bharat Rang Mahotsav organized by National School of Drama, Delhi in association with Max Mueller Bhawan and Swiss Arts Council.
  • Staged performances as a vocalist in reputed institutions like Rashtrapati Bhawan, Sapru House, India Habitat Centre, Lalit Kala Akademi, National School of Drama, Sahitya Akademi, All India Fine Arts and Crafts Society (AIFACS) and the like.
  • Organized a lecture by Dr Homiyar, Director, Bookshare, world’s largest accessible online library for people with print disabilities. The session demonstrated the power of assistive technology and its usage to print disabled learners as part of REACH.

Achievements:

  • Research Fellowship by Department of Culture, Ministry of Human Resources and Development, Government of India, for research project, titled “Nirala ke Kavya mein Vastu aur Roop ka Dwandwa”.
  • Awarded scholarships in the field of Hindustani Classical Vocal Music by Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi (1981-86) and Department of Culture, Government of India (1987-88).
  • Vocational Excellency Award by Rotary Club, Delhi.
  • Woman Achiever in Education by Andhra Vanitha Mandali.
  • Many stage performances as a vocalist and programmes and interviews on All India Radio, NDTV and Doordarshan.
