 Bionote

Dr Sonika Chauhan has been working as an Assistant Professor (Ad-hoc) in the Department of Elementary Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women where she teaches courses related to Social Science Education, Curriculum, School Planning and Management, Contemporary India and Foundational aspects of Education. Also practicum courses such as School Contact Programme, Observing Children and Classroom Management. She has 16 years of teaching experience in the capacity of teacher and teacher educator with teaching experience of more than 7 years at the school level. She has worked as a consultant in various non-government and private organizations in their projects related to gender, curriculum and evaluation. She has contributed to the corporate social life of the college in various academic and administrative capacities and as staff advisors to various students’ societies. She holds extensive research experience as senior research fellow (SRF) at the Department of Education, University of Delhi. Her PhD thesis focused on understanding prospective teachers’ notions of diversity and social justice. She has been associated with several projects of government, non-government and private organizations for faculty development of teachers; and evaluation and monitoring.
