Bionote

Pooja Singal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Elementary Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, University of Delhi, since the year 2010. She teaches courses related to Language Education such as Language Across the Curriculum, Teaching of English as a Second Language, Storytelling and Children’s Literature, Material Development for Language, Pedagogy of Language and Research. She actively engages with teachers and teacher educators through workshops, consultancy work and professional development activities. She seeks opportunities to connect and interact with field practitioners through volunteering in different NGOs. She has contributed to the corporate social life of the college in various capacities, as Co-Convener of scholarship/freeship cell, as Staff Advisor to Dramatic Society of the college, Staff Advisor to Education related projects under NSS, Staff Advisor to REACH and so on. She has been the co-convenor of an ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar Alternative and Innovative Education in India: The Way Ahead in the year 2018.

Community outreach Activities

  • As part of community extension activity, coordinated summer workshops with the help of students of B.El.Ed Department, LSR, at Delhi Public Library, Sarojini Nagar and Delhi Public Library, Chandni Chowk in the years 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019.  The workshop titled ‘Kitaab Lehariya’ focused on building the reading and creative writing capacity of children from the neighbouring areas of the libraries.
