Student’s Union

The Students’ Union is the elected representative body that serves as a vital link between the student community and the college administration. Comprising the President, General Secretary, Cultural Secretary, and Treasurer, the Union is committed to promoting student welfare, representing the interests and concerns of the student body, and fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus environment.

The Students’ Union works closely with departmental and society unions to coordinate student initiatives, support institutional activities, and ensure effective collaboration across the college. It is responsible for organising several flagship events, including the Freshers’ OrientationIndependence Day celebrations, the College FestGraduation DinnerStudents’ Union Elections, the Handing Over Ceremony, and the college’s annual cultural festival, Tarang. The Union also oversees the design and distribution of official college merchandise, strengthening a shared sense of identity and belonging among students.

In addition to its organisational responsibilities, the Students’ Union leads three flagship initiatives that reflect its commitment to an engaged, inclusive, and compassionate campus community:

Project Bahubhashi celebrates India’s rich linguistic and cultural diversity by creating opportunities for students to engage with a wide range of languages, traditions, stories, and artistic expressions. Through performances, cultural exchanges, and interactive events, the project promotes inclusivity, representation, and intercultural dialogue, encouraging students to appreciate and celebrate the country’s pluralistic heritage.

Project Jagriti is dedicated to fostering awareness, critical thinking, and active student engagement with contemporary social, cultural, and civic issues. Through discussions, workshops, campaigns, and interactive activities, the initiative encourages informed dialogue, responsible citizenship, and meaningful participation in campus and community life.

Project Sadbhavana promotes student well-being by cultivating a supportive, empathetic, and inclusive campus environment. Through open conversations, peer engagement, and community-building activities, the project seeks to create safe spaces where students feel heard, valued, and connected. It underscores the importance of kindness, emotional well-being, and mutual support as integral to both personal and academic growth.
