The Department of Elementary Education, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, in collaboration with CIET–NCERT, successfully organised a one-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on ICT and Emerging Technologies for Teachers with a focus on AI. The FDP commenced with registration followed by an inaugural session under the guidance of Prof. Kanika Ahuja, Acting Principal, LSR, and Prof. Shireesh Pal Singh, Programme Coordinator, CIET–NCERT. The inaugural session included Welcome by TIC, Lighting of the Lamp, an address by Prof. Kanika Ahuja, Acting Principal, LSR, and the Concept Note by Prof. Shireesh Pal Singh, Programme Coordinator, CIET–NCERT.
In the first session, Dr. Tagaram Kondala Rao, CIET–NCERT, helped participants comprehend the national digital initiatives and their importance in enhancing technology-driven education. A session on use of AI/AR/VR and other ICT Tools for Teaching and Learning was conducted by Dr. Pranita Gopal, CIET–NCERT, which emphasized the educational use of AI and virtual reality in the classroom. Participants actively explored the integration of ICT tools and emerging technologies in teaching, including AI-assisted learning tools.
Session 3 was conducted by Dr. Jipsy Malhotra, CIET–NCERT, and it helped participants comprehend the use of technology in assessment techniques. This was followed by Session 4 which focused on eContent Development for Teaching–Learning Assessment, conducted by Prof. Indu Kumar, CIET–NCERT, which emphasized the development of efficient digital learning materials. The last academic session was conducted by Dr. Pranita Gopal, CIET–NCERT, which focused on the pedagogical integration of artificial intelligence and immersive technologies in classroom practices. The programme concluded with a valedictory ceremony where the learnings of FDP were reflected upon and the contribution of all stakeholders, were acknowledged by the Teacher-in-Charge of Department of Elementary Education, Ms. Deepika Papneja. Tokens of appreciation were presented to faculty members, student union representatives, volunteers and students for their active involvement, intellectual engagement and dedicated efforts.
