Information Cells

Since its inception in 1956, Lady Shri Ram College for women has produced a long line of distinguished alumni. Eminent ELSAs are found in any Indian roll call of politics, literature, industry, entertainment, sports and more. The Alumna cell is a student body with the aim to foster and bridge the interaction between the institute and its Alumni. We, in the Alumni Cell, seek to reach out, maintain and strengthen close ties with our Alumni. This is done through a range of activities organized throughout the year. The Annual Reunion NOSTALGIA, the INTERACTIVE SESSIONS with distinguished alumni, ALUMNA BAZAARS, interaction with different societies to organize different events like Global Mentoring Walk, ELSA association registrations and conducting various interviews with alumni and celebrating the ALUMNA OF THE MONTH. The design, editorial and organizing team implement these activities effectively.

The Placement Season 2022 – 23

The Placement Season 2022 – 23 of LSR was an extremely eventful year and witnessed the participation of more than 140 companies extending 236 offers to our students. Industry giants like McKinsey & Co., Boston Consulting Group, Kepler Cannon, DE Shaw, Accenture, Dalberg, Trinity, Deloitte, EY and KPMG offered positions in a diverse range of fields such as consulting, finance, marketing and sales, media and research, auditing, and HR.
The highest package of INR 44.8 LPA (highest in the University of Delhi), was bagged by Janvi Gupta from Commerce Department. The average package amounted to an aggregate of INR 11.8 LPA while the median package stood at INR 9.5 LPA. We hosted 24 companies as first-time recruiters including PayTM, The Print, Acuvon Consulting, Barclays and Trinity Life Sciences to name a few. Educational organizations such as Teach for India and Young India fellowship also offered excellent fellowship programs to the students.
The Cell hosted a varied range of companies offering internships, both physical and virtual, throughout the year and opening up avenues for socially geared initiatives with organizations like Shashi Dream Foundation, CRRSS, CovEd India. The highest ever stipend was offered by the Bank of America, recruiting for their Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities (Sales) Role, and offered Rs. 6,68,000 for 8 weeks. The average stipend offered this year stood at INR 140000 for 2 months for full-time summer internships, with 41 full-time offers made by 11 companies.
Around 24 workshops were conducted by the Placement Cell to make the Cell more conducive to career-building and support training. Various seminars and workshops from organizations such as T.I.M.E., London Business School and Talerang were conducted to help students improve their employability skills through resume writing, case study workshops, and first-hand provision of industry knowledge. Like every year, LSR alumni were also a part of these sessions to talk about their own learning from the placement and internship experiences in college. The social media profile of the Placement Cell witnessed an exponential growth in terms of its engagement and reach, with the aim of being a one-stop solution for all placement-related queries for the students.
Our future vision is to help opportunity deprived students kick-start their careers. We did make a small step in the right direction this year by compiling a database of students with disabilities and those coming from disadvantaged backgrounds who wanted to sit for placements to mentor them in resume writing and finding jobs.
