Students and teachers of LSR celebrated Teachers' Day with great cheer on the 5th of September 2016. The Students’ Union and several college societies put together a wonderful program honouring the student-teacher relationship.
Proceedings began with the instrumentalists mesmerizing the audience with soulful tunes. The Indian music society added to the magic with their beautiful renditions of Sufi songs. The Western Music Society also performed two popular numbers much enjoyed by the audience. The Abhivykati society dedicated their poetic creations to the teachers who have shaped their lives. Expressions (the Creative Writing Society) screened "The Silent Classrooms", a short film narrating much that remains unsaid in classrooms. The Students' Council Media Team also presented a short film expressing gratitude for the constant guidance teachers provide young minds. Cheers and laughs from the audience were ever present during the performance of Elocution Society’s Feminist Station’ - based on the magic of radio shows. The Dramatics Society's performed "A day in a teacher’s life"! showing humorously the many facets of being a teacher.
Lastly, the Dance Society of LSR closed the show, performing on a medley of old and new songs.
