Connect and Change
Over the two years of CDF's association with LSR, the organisation has been successful in making an impact at the grassroot level along with mobilising the youth to take up social entrepreneurial ventures. Through the CDF Connect and Change Program (CnC),LSR enabled its students to work as volunteers in the villages adopted by CDF, creating and identifying sustainable solution to the concern of the chosen villages in two areas-
ii) Livelihood and employment
Ever since the inception of CDF LSR, the chapter has hosted two inter college full day Training and Ideation Conventions, which saw participation from over 15 colleges across Delhi University. The aim of these conventions is to equip the volunteers associted with the volunteers with the skills required to work in a rural setting as well as come up with innovative and sustainable solutions to existing problems in village communities. CDF LSR in collaboration with School for Democracy organised a 'Book Collection Drive' in college. the books so collected are to be donated to children of the village community and used in the village library.
The editorial team of the chapter released a Financial Literacy book for their adopted village, which focussed on equipping the target group with basic financial know-how. it covered a variety of topics, ranging from filling bank forms to managing loans and log books. This year CDF LSR released another handbook on college day that focuses on young entrepreneurs in both, rural and urban areas.
A start up initiative by the name Basta: Waste to Worth, which collaborated with CDF LSR, secured first position in an international level youth entrepreneurship competition and had the opportunity to present the business model at the United Nations HQ, NY.
