Teacher’s Day celebration at LSR 2017
Teacher’s Day was celebrated with much joy and vigour at LSR on the 5th of September 2017. Various student societies paid tribute to their teachers with music and dance being integral parts of the celebration. The Instrumentalists, the Indian Music Society and the Western Music Society enthralled the audience with their melodies. The Dramatics Society enamoured us with its portrayal of some of the greatest teachers in human history who transformed the meaning of education. Elocution and Abhivyakti authentically re-created their teachers’ staff room musings. Their piece depicted the many emotions teachers feel- from dismay to delight- while engaging with the teaching process. Expressions screened a short film ‘To Student, With Love’ on how teachers and students are incomplete without one another. Three students presented a riveting collaboration using spoken word poetry and music. In addition, photo exhibitions were organised by Projekt and Hive society. The beautiful photographs captured the bonds students share with their teachers. At several points during the course of the celebrations, the Students’ Union expressed their gratitude for their teachers.
The Principal of LSR, Dr. Suman Sharma addressing the students and teachers said that teaching and learning is a shared experience and a two-way process. The mutual warmth and regard expressed on Teachers’s Day made it a memorable one for the entire college community.
