Lady Shri Ram College for Women celebrated it's 60th college day on the 26th of April, 2016. The morning ceremony witnessed awards being given to meritorious students in academics and in different co-curricular activities. Family members of several students joined us for the prize distribution. The Principal Dr. Suman Sharma also released the college magazine and annual publications of several departments.
The evening’s events began with tea in the exhibition hall. Thereafter proceedings moved to the auditorium. The function began by welcoming the chief guest for the evening Ms. Anjali Bhardwaj and other esteemed guests. Ms. Bhardwaj is the founder of Satark Nagrik Sangathan, a people’s group based in Delhi that has been working for over a decade to create a vigilant and empowered citizenry based on the right to information.
College chairperson Sh. Arun Bharat Ram then addressed the audience and Principal Dr. Suman Sharma presented the college report for 2015-16. Subsequently, Sh. Arun Bharat Ram presented the distinguished alumna awards to Ms. Deepika Shrivastava (Batch of 1976) and Ms. Nita Chowdhry (Batch of 1975) for their exemplary work in the social sector. Three members of the LSR community- Ms. Rukshana Shroff, Dr. Krishna Menon and Mr. Shailesh Kumar were recognised for 25 years of service to the College. Prizes were also awarded to students from the graduating batch for achievements in various fields. In a heart warming speech outgoing student president Apoorva Kavin, reflected on her time at LSR.
The evening drew to a close with enthralling cultural performances by the various societies of college.
