On Saturday, 20th January 2016, the Mathematics department organized the Anupama Dua Scholarship and Paper presentation function.The parents of Anupama Dua, Mr and Mrs Dua, along with our Principal Dr Suman Sharma were escorted to the venue of the presentation, which was for the first time organized in the New Conference Hall. They were welcomed with a soulful rendition of “Saraswati Vandana” by the talented students of our Department. The President, Surbhi Sood, invited the guests and the faculty members to light the ceremonial lamp. The Teacher In Charge, Ms. Bhavneet Kaur addressed the gathering and welcomed the guests. Then time stood still when a beautiful movie capturing the essence of this event was played. Everyone was touched by the sensitivity and beauty of it all. The parents thanked the students who put so much effort in making the video. The parents further lighted the incense sticks which were placed beside the photograph of Anupama and they said their prayers and blessings to the departed soul.
Finally, the paper presentations by the various students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd years began. The topics generated curiosity from time to time. The topics for which the students displayed their numerical and analytical abilities ranged from “Mathematics and Music” to “What’s up this Friday”. The presenters were often reviewed or questioned by the teachers and notes were made. Then the scholarship holders for the previous year were presented with certificates and prize money by Mr Dua.

After the presentations came to an end. The parents were escorted to the tree growing in the memory of their daughter. The tree, situated at the middle lawn is a sight to remember. The teachers and the parents then took their turn to water the tree. The parents made their final parting and the Department thanked them for taking out time.
